The Divinity Code to Understanding Your Dreams and Visions is an excellent tool to use for developing in dreams and visions according to the Word of God. I'd recommend this to anyone learning how to flow in the prophetic; developing their ability to decipher dreams and visions. It does not apply a specific formula but guides you along the path of understanding while warning you on how to avoid common pitfalls. I love how the writings in the beginning of the book pull on the entirety of the Word of God pulling from the Old Testament to the New Testament and revealing Christ in every truth unfolded therein. There are several beautiful parallels pointed out which sealed some things I already know with the Word on multiple levels to bring them to live on a greater dimension. The dictionaries in the back of the book are helpful in developing an understanding of your dream language. I think they are a great starting point. I love the fact that they have included scriptural references for the entries so that it is clear the definitions are not just pulled out of secular interpretations, but based on the Word of God. This is very informative and although I do not agree with everything written I do study the scriptures they give to back up their theories or beliefs. I find it way more helpful than disagreeable and I am still learning...if you do not approach this with a teachable attitude then don't bother cracking it open....as with anything. First and foremost you have to study for yourself which the authors absolutely encourage.. The dictionary part is very expansive and appreciated. So, this is worth the money and the effort to dive into and learn.
I consider this book an absolute asset. Second only to the bible, the authors explain in absolute detail how our God uses and used dreams to direct , warn and encourage his people. You will hardly find another book on dreams with such an abundance of metaphors - 3000! - including detailed instructions and examples on how to apply these.
However, I do have a serious problem with the authors' insistence that all dreams are from God. I dream frequently. I may perceive God`s encouragement or comfort in an issue - and then, perhaps only 2 days later, although NOT a nightmare (which is discussed in this first part of the book), but a dream with such disturbing imagery that I find myself unable, even after repeated prayer, to put a meaning to it.
A very good example is my recent dream involving my deceased mother. I live on another continent for many years already, but visited each year for a couple of weeks. During the last years of her life she developed a kind of dementia, and although she was well cared for by my siblings, I struggled very much with her sometimes outright rejection of me during my visits, and often reacted in an unkind manner. These issues, feeling that I let her down when she needed me most, weight heavily on me, and have been the topic of many of my prayers. And I so wished for a dream that would help me..... Instead I dreamed just that - in the kitchen with my mother; she not responding to my question "did you bake these cakes?", instead, turning away from me and that familiar feeling of rejection sweeping over me....
In their very well written and extensively researched Part I of their volume, the authors state "...Every dream sets forth a hope and a future produced by the interpretation.......without that (the dream) is meaningless....."
Clearly, a dream such as above does not qualify here, and I wish the authors had covered it as well.
I'd find it interesting to hear how other (born-again) dreamers see this dilemma...
This is the most comprehensive dream interpretation book available. I have met the authors Adam and Adrian personally, and have received from them fluent and accurate dream & vision interpretations. Their mastery of dream symbols, together with their explanations of the methodology on how to interpret dreams has provided a powerful and useful tool for anyone who desires a greater understanding of their dreams. In addition, they reveal how dreams are a way that God communicates to us. When dream interpretation is clarified, the world immediately becomes more understandable, and our personal situations make more sense. It is now obvious that God gives us wisdom in our dreams--if we know how to interpret them. Daniel the Prophet was a master of dream interpretation--and Adam and Adrian help us to participate in that dream interpretation mastery. Many thanks to them for this excellent magnum opus on dream interpretation. It will undoubtedly go down in history as a classic of dream interpretation.
This is what I have been looking for. I keep a dream journal beside my bed. I have done this since 2013. I have scores of dream interpretation books. This one is the best. It is not a quick lookup and you're done book. This is a serious Bible based interpretation for dreams. Your dreams are "yours". Based on your life experience at the time of the dream. Only you know what the symbols mean to you. With the aid of this book and your Bible of choice, you should be able to understand what your GOD is telling you. If an extended version comes out, I will purchase it. There are a few words and symbols that I did not find.
